Who we are
The Parlour is a cozy local space where women and gender non-conforming folks can come together regularly to connect, create, and share in artistic and culinary experiences. Our goal is to build a community-driven gathering place shaped by the women around us—where hosts and performers from the community help create a welcoming, expressive, and inspiring environment for everyone.
Each quarter, The Parlour hosts special events led by Jo Berry, your neighborhood “salonnière,” featuring pop-ups, performances, readings, discussions, and tarot nights. Every event is paired with food from BerryGoodEats, Jo’s own catering company, offering a thoughtfully curated menu of dishes and sweet treats. The food is meant to bring people together, spark conversation, and add a little extra magic to an evening centered on creativity, connection, and community.

Jo's favorite part...
"Think old-school Salons where people would mingle and compare ideas. It’s a safe space for women and femmes to be together, share stories and spend a few dedicated hours away from other responsibilities and relish being amongst our peers. A lot of times there will be readings and discussions and sometimes performances accompanied by discussions of feminism in performance - a creative space for women."
Tell Me More About Salons
"While the roots of the salon can be found in Ancient Greece and Rome, the first recorded salons took place in Italy in the 15th Century, and these were a precursor to the Enlightenment Period. They were an opportunity for artists, poets, musicians, thinkers, the Renaissance intellectual glitteratti and their hangers-on, to come together across social classes to hob-nob and share ideas out of the scrutiny of the Roman Catholic Church."

About Polina:
Polina is a professionally trained opera singer with a lifelong connection to theatre and backstage life. She grew up in dressing rooms, watching performers of different ages prepare their faces before going on stage.
During her studies at the conservatory, she also took formal classes in stage makeup, where she learned how to create different theatrical looks and how light, structure, and color transform the face under stage lighting.
She is not a professional makeup artist, but she brings years of observation, training, and practical experience in understanding how makeup affects presence and expression.
What she shares is not dramatic stage transformation — but wearable techniques inspired by theatrical principles, adapted for real life: freshness, lift, and intention.
